Born in Arizona in 1991, I have lived most of my life in the great, rural west, Idaho being a significant part of that. My studies include graduating in 2010 from Art Instruction Schools of Minneapolis, MN, a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art at BYU-Idaho in 2016, and graduating in 2018 with a Master's in Art & Culture Management from Rome Business School in Italy.
I have lived a life of eclectic adventures near and far, traveling around the world, living in foreign countries on shoestring budgets and unbelievable miracles. My travels and experiences have been influential in shaping who I am today; the people I've met and places I've seen continue to be a lifeblood of inspiration to me.
I have learned that wherever I'm at to live in the present, to be still where I stand, and to flower in the moment. There is such profound beauty in nature, in simplicity, in silence. A sunset from my Idaho hometown still leaves me breathless every time; mossy rocks in a mountain stream; tenacious wildflowers, overlooked; steepled woods and somber mountains, all bring magic and wonder to my world.
My passions are in working in oil and charcoal, but I still love expressing my creativity with other media as well, such as watercolor, ink, and textiles. Among my favorite subjects are the ever-changing skies and the faces of ordinary people. I see the light and colors painted in each rising and setting of the sun, and I strive to capture these myself. Every painting is my prayer of gratitude to God above for what I see and feel in the fleeting moment.
There isn't a person I meet that I don't wonder about their lives and stories. In a world of commotion and controversy, I see in humanity our likeness through shared struggles and experiences. To me, every person has value and something to offer, and I hope to convey this through the their expressions I capture on canvas.
Currently living in New Hampshire with my husband and three children, I am surrounded by beauty and opportunity. I hope my art inspires others to see with fresh eyes and a renewed sense of gratitude for the everyday beauties of nature and people that surround us.
